The international convention and exhibition industry is commonly known as the "MICE Industry" (the English acronym for four industries, namely Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions), which includes business meetings, governmental and association meetings, incentive tours, the industrial clusters for large-scale events and exhibitions. With their diversified and integrated elements, they can promote the international profile of the country, its industries, and city destination marketing. Also, the MICE Industry, apart from supporting the development of the manufacturing industries or other services industries, can drive peripherally related industries, such as catering, accommodation and tourism. Thus, this will create a huge chain effect and generate considerable output value and employment.

Since the MICE industry is able to stimulate the economy, promote economic growth and drive export trade, it has become a strategic industry that has been actively developed in many countries.
